Honouring Excellence and Integrity Across Our National Operations

📸 Featured here, Sam and Chintan holding their awards, representing the values that underpin every site, contract and customer relationship across our physical security, traffic, and technology portfolios.

At Southern Cross Group Services, we believe that values aren’t just written into policy, they’re embedded in our daily operations, demonstrated in field decisions, and upheld in every client interaction. Whether it’s a frontline traffic controller managing public safety, a licensed guard maintaining vigilance on overnight patrol, or a control room operator coordinating multi-site electronic security deployments, our people embody our core values through consistent actions and accountable leadership.

Integrity, excellence, and service reliability are more than guiding principles, they are operational standards. These values inform how we train our teams, respond to incidents, manage compliance, and build trusted partnerships with clients across government, retail, infrastructure and corporate sectors. From metropolitan CBDs to regional growth corridors, our commitment to these values drives performance, builds client trust, and ensures safe, secure and efficient outcomes.

🏆 Mr Sam Awan, recipient of our Quarterly Award for Integrity, is the driving force behind our national HR operations and the Southern Cross National Operations Centre. Sam has played a key role in strengthening workforce compliance, improving incident response frameworks, and ensuring consistency across our 24/7 guarding, patrol, and electronic security deployments. His ethical leadership and commitment to people-first culture are a benchmark for the entire organisation.

Both awards were formally presented by Mr Stuart Moran, MBA, our newly appointed Sales, Marketing and Technical Manager, whose role reflects Southern Cross Group’s renewed focus on strategic leadership, integrated service excellence, and deeper engagement with our clients and industry stakeholders. Stuart brings a wealth of cross-sector expertise to the business, helping to align our operational delivery with evolving market expectations and client priorities across physical security, electronic systems, and traffic management. These awards symbolise our ongoing commitment to recognising internal excellence while fostering a high-performance culture that translates into measurable outcomes for our clients.

To our valued clients and delivery partners across retail, local government, property, and infrastructure, the achievements of Sam Awan and Chintan Patel reflect the calibre of leadership that drives consistent, high-quality outcomes behind the scenes. Whether it’s maintaining operational integrity in complex national deployments, or leading frontline teams through critical traffic and public safety engagements, their work ensures continuity, compliance, and confidence across every contract we manage.

It is through individuals like Sam and Chintan that Southern Cross Group Services continues to set benchmarks in service delivery, stakeholder engagement, and professional standards. Their contributions are not only recognised internally, they actively shape the trust our partners place in us every day.

Epesio “Eps” Hankin receives the Runner-Up Award for May 2025 from the Mulgoa Road Upgrade Alliance, representing Southern Cross Traffic.
Epesio “Eps” Hankin receives the Reward and Recognition Runner-Up Award from the Mulgoa Road Upgrade Alliance in May 2025. A valued traffic controller and Torres Strait Islander, Eps consistently demonstrates leadership, safety excellence, and cultural pride on-site.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Epesio “Eps” Hankin, a standout member of our traffic management team and a proud Torres Strait Islander, has once again been recognised for his outstanding contribution to site safety and professionalism.

Eps has been named Runner-Up in the May 2025 Reward and Recognition Awards by the Mulgoa Road Upgrade Alliance – a collaborative delivery between Transport for NSW, Seymour Whyte, and Turnbull Engineering.

This isn’t Eps’ first time on the winner’s list… and we doubt it’ll be his last. On-site, he’s known not just for his calm leadership and precision under pressure, but also for quietly outshining just about everyone (including some of our site supervisors!). Jokes aside, his work ethic, cultural leadership, and commitment to safety are second to none.
